Jeffrey Guyton is the New President & CEO of MNAO

If you have not already heard, Mazda recently published the news of adjustments to its management team.  We now know that Jeffrey Guyton is the new President and CEO of Mazda North American Operations. This will be official as of next week, on June 24 th, 2021. more Obligations This selection comprises supervision of Mazda North American Operations based in Irvine, Calif.; Mazda Canada Inc., centered in Toronto; Mazda Colombia, established in Bogota; and Mazda Motors de Mexico, in Mexico City. Furthermore, Guyton’s obligations involve vehicle manufacture in Salamanca, Mexico and Huntsville, Alabama, where Mazda will produce an all-new CUV created solely for the North American marketplace. Guyton’s forerunner in this position is Masahiro Moro, who will take on the freshly formed global status of Chief Communications Officer at Mazda’s center of operations in Hiroshima, Japan. In this position, Moro will supervise public relations, investor relationships, corporate social accountability, human resources, government matters and other administrative tasks. “Mazda continues to invest in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Colombia markets with dedicated regional products and powertrains, an enhanced dealer experience, and new manufacturing facilities,” Moro said. “Jeff has successfully led Mazda’s business growth in the US throughout the pandemic, making him a natural choice to strengthen our business across the Americas. In this expanded role, he’ll enhance collaboration across all four regions and continue to grow our brand value as a premium automaker.” History Since joining the US squad as President of Mazda North American Operations in 2019, Guyton has directed the organization to year-over-year sales development in 2020, purpose-led Covid response plans, the introduction of Mazda Financial Services, and the development of the effective Retail Evolution dealer program. Preceding joining Mazda North American Operations, Guyton worked as President and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe.

Check Out the 1st Ever Electrified MX-30!

Mazda North American Operations recently announced the launch of the all-new Mazda MX-30, the brand’s inaugural battery-electric automobile, to the US marketplace starting in fall 2021 with dealerships in California. This fashionable automobile will celebrate the first phase in Mazda’s multi-solution electrification plan. The MX-30 is a refreshing inclusion to Mazda’s vehicle roster. It offers the identical signature driving dynamics and meticulous design anticipated from Mazda, but via a new electric powertrain. more Fast Changing Demands “Mazda is preparing for the fast-changing US market demands by taking a multi-solution approach to electrification,” Jeff Guyton, President of Mazda North American Operations, said. “The battery-powered MX-30 will begin the introduction of additional electrified models, including a series plug-in hybrid with a rotary generator for MX-30, a plug-in hybrid for our new large platform, and a traditional hybrid for our new American-made crossover. While these powertrains will be optimized for their platforms, Mazda fans can expect great driving dynamics and beautiful design across all models.” “The rotary generator will mark the return of our unique rotary powertrain,” Guyton said. “This technology is being engineered for nearly silent operation and will replenish the battery rather than drive the wheels. As a result, the MX-30 will always drive like the engaging EV that it is, but with freedom to charge from the wall or on the go.” Mazda’s brand-new electrification technology uses an electric motor and a 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery. This new powertrain in conjunction with improvements to the Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture help the electric crossover deliver fantastic driving dynamics. The front-wheel drive electric motor will produce an output of 107 kW (144 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 271 Nm (200 lb-ft), providing a soft and connected feeling that helps improve support for the driver. Charging Options MX-30 owners will have various alternatives to stay charged, whether at home or wandering around town via entry to public Level 2 and DC fast charging solutions. The 35.5 kWh battery can be charged to 80% within roughly 36 minutes using DC fast charging2. MNAO will team up with ChargePoint to offer charging solutions for MX-30 owners in the US. Further details on this collaboration will be distributed nearer to the motor vehicles appearing in dealerships.
