Mazda Safety: Active and Passive Approaches

And now, we want to celebrate them for something truly special. more Five Mazdas, Five Top Safety Pick Plus Ratings The Mazda CX-5 was named a 2017 IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus, the independent organization’s highest-possible safety rating. While keeping you focused on the road. Get maximum confidence and enjoyment out of your drive knowing these available systems are constantly working to alert you to potential hazards, avert collisions, or reduce their severity when one is unavoidable.2 It’s another example of our Jinba Ittai philosophy of creating oneness between car and driver. Passive Safety Technology These technologies help protect occupants and reduce damage in the event of a collision. They include the rigid SKYACTIV®-Body with ring structure, seatbelt with pretensioner and load limiter, anti-intrusion brake pedal, SRS Airbag Systems3, and more. Intelligent Transport Systems As we continue to invest in lifesaving safety technology, it’s always with a loftier goal in mind: to realize a world where traffic accidents no longer occur. With over 25 years of research and investment into this technology, we believe that Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) can make this a reality. ITS reduces accidents and congestion by receiving and transmitting information about the location of pedestrians and other cars, then relaying it to drivers. Although it is not yet available, we continue to invest in this technology in the hope of one day making accidents a thing of the past.
