One Millionth

One Millionth Mazda Comes Home

One Millionth Everyone loves the Mazda MX-5 Miata. Now, the one millionth MX-5 Miata has return to Mazda headquarters in Hiroshima after its year-long globe circling tour. more Celebration The one millionth Mazda MX-5 Miata is a commemorative model that celebrates the production of 1 million units of the iconic sports car. Mazda created the tour in order to celebrate reaching one million units with their fans. It was a sort of “thank you” to everyone who showed support for the model over the years. During the tour, the vehicle was displayed at more than thirty events in Japan, Germany, Spain, Canada and the United States among others. Thousands of MX-5 fans signed their names on the bodywork. In the United States alone, the “Millionth Miata Celebration Tour” made 18 stops between August and November of last year. “Seeing so many signatures from all over the world really brought home the fact that people from different countries, cultures and generations have supported the MX-5 for more than a quarter of a century,” said Masashi Nakayama, Program Manager and Chief Designer of the fourth-generation MX-5. “We are forever grateful to these fans, and we will continue working to elevate this car, a symbol of Mazda’s dedication to driving pleasure, to the realm of high culture as we set our sights on the next milestone – 2 million units.” On Display Upon returning to Japan, the One Millionth Miata took part in the Hiroshima Flower Festival parade that was held on May third. It then sat on display in Mazda’s headquarters for five days. We have to agree, this is some pretty special news. To think there are now well over a million MX-5 Miatas that have been made is incredible. The MX-5 Miata sure is a special car. Want your own? If you’re interested in having your own MX-5 Miata, give Beach Mazda a call today. We’ll be more than happy to show you how you can own one for yourself. With this in mind, don't wait any longer.

Touge California

Touge California Rally - Vintage Japanese Cars

3 rd Annual Touge California rally How about some more Mazda racing news? Mazda just announced that, once again, it’s partnering with Japanese Nostalgic Car to sponsor the 3 rd annual Touge California rally. That’s pretty cool! Japanese Nostalgic Car is the largest U.S. based online magazine. It covers vintage cars and Japanese automotive culture. This will be the 2 nd year Mazda is the title sponsor. This sounds like a really cool event! more Rotary Engine This year’s event will honor the 50 th anniversary of Mazda’s very first sports car. Do you know what car is it? The Cosmo Sport 110S, powered by a Wankel rotary engine. Much like it does today, Mazda used the knowledge of its engineers to develop distinctive technologies that set Mazda apart from the rest of the automotive field. Mazda is known for its rotary engines, of course. But, back in the 60s, other vehicle manufacturers held patents to build a rotary engine. Fortunately for Mazda, none of the other automakers were ever successful in making the technology work. Mazda has, time after time, challenged regular thinking. Vintage Vehicles The determined spirit of innovation will be on display on July 15 th in Southern California. The Touge California acts as host to vintage Japanese vehicles from across the United States. Several vintage vehicles from Mazda’s own Heritage Collection will also be present. “We created Touge California three years ago to provide a Mille Miglia-style road rally for owners of Japanese cars,” said Ben Hsu, founder and editor of Japanese Nostalgic Car. “Our focus was to embrace and celebrate the cars we might have grown up with or may have been forbidden fruit, growing to legendary status in their Japanese home market.” “Touge” (toe-geh) is a Japanese word meaning “Mountain Pass”, synonymous with the spirited driving styles adopted throughout hilly Japanese expanses. Fun Event It sure does sound like this is going to be a seriously fun event. All of us here at Beach Mazda are looking forward to hearing all about it! Stay tuned for more great Mazda racing info, of course. IN the meantime, stop by Beach Mazda. We have a terrific selection and brand new and pre-owned Mazdas on the lot. Definitely, give us a call today. Sooner or later, you're going to want a Mazda for yourself!

Vehicles for Change

Vehicles for Change: Mazda helps the community

A Necessity A car is pretty much a necessity these days. Unless you live in a really small community, people need a car for most every activity outside of the home. Vehicles also make life easier. Getting to and from work, school, or even to run errands on a Saturday afternoon are all made much more convenient with the use of a vehicle. This is where Vehicles for Change comes in. more Vehicles for Change Mazda understands however, that not everyone can afford to buy a vehicle. This is where Mazda and the Baltimore-based nonprofit group Vehicles for Change step in. Vehicles for Change, Inc., is dedicated to helping low-income families achieve independence through car ownership and technical training. Since its inception in 1999, Vehicles for Change has donated almost 5,000 cars and helped more than 16,000 individuals. How awesome is that? Way to go Mazda! Mazda has pledged to be part of that legacy through its “Drive to 100” program. Mazda has pledged to donate 100 cars to 100 families from April to December. Participating dealerships from Washington, D.C. to Massachusetts will award refurbished Mazda vehicles to families in need of personal transportation. “Giving back is at the core of what we do at Mazda, and we look forward to partnering with VFC on a program that will have such a tremendous impact on families in our own communities across the northeast,” said Brian Nash, Mazda’s Northeast Region General Manager. Helping People It’s certain that the work that’s been done by vehicles for Change has helped low-income family. Families are now able to see the doctor more regularly. They are able to get to better paying job so incomes have increased. It’s also been shown to improve a family’s quality of life. For one thing, can you imagine the stress relief? VFC reported the 93 percent of families had a reduced level of stress in part because of the benefits from owning a car. “This partnership with Mazda gives us the opportunity to expand VFC’s impactful car award program to cities across the northeast,” said VFC President Marty Schwartz. “Access to transportation severely limits an individual’s ability to be financially independent and provide for their families, and we know families are struggling in every city in the U.S., not just Baltimore.” Currently, this program is not available in our area. Wouldn't it be awesome if it was though? Right now, it's taking place in the northeast. So, if you’re interested in purchasing your own Mazda vehicle, give Beach Mazda a call today and we’ll be happy to help you! Beach Mazda knows that driving really does matter. We can show you how!

MX-5 Miata

MX-5 Miata: One-millionth car hits the pavement!

As of April 22nd, 2016, production of the Mazda MX-5 Miata reached one million units! This 27-years-in-the-making record all started at the Ujina Plant Number One in April of 1989. more In a recent press release, representative director, president and CEO of Mazda Corporation said “From the first generation through to today’s fourth-generation model, the reason we have been able to continue selling the MX-5 all these years is due to the strong support of fans around the world,” He continued “Mazda was founded in Hiroshima 96 years ago, and as we move toward our centennial year we will continue offering customers the joy of driving with this model, which has become a symbol of our brand. Mazda aims to create a special bond with customers and become a ‘one-and-only’ brand they will choose again and again.” Mazda wants to say thank you to the fans and owners. memorial day

Memorial Day: A Day to Remember Our Fallen

On this Memorial Day… more...we offer a few words of thanks and remembrance. Memorial Day In distant field of sunny France Where strangers come and go, Amid the farms of Flanders, where The fragrant breezes blow, Our solder-dead in quiet sleep 'Neath crosses row on row. * Here shrapnel shells once shrieked and burst And took their toll of death; The very wind, itself a foe, Bore poison on its breath. * Above their graves the birds now sing As round that home of yore, When, carefree boys, they romped and played; Those childhood days soon o'er, The boys to brave and strong men grown, They romped and played no more. * They put aside their childish toys, A man's work each must do, And when their country called for them, To her they answered true. * "We must protect our native land: She shall not suffer wrong For she has reared and nurtured us, We're men and we are strong. We'll bid good-bye to those we love; It will not be for long." * With aching hearts and tear-dimmed eyes We watched them go away. Some have returned but many sleep In foreign lands today. * Where English roses bloom and fade, In France where lilies grow, Among the fields of Flanders, where The scarlet poppies blow, Our soldier-dead are not forgot Though strangers come and go. * Eula Gladys Lincoln It is with great reverence that all of us here at Beach Mazda celebrate Memorial Day. As we begin the summer season here in Myrtle Beach, we pause to express our gratitude for the men and women of our military who have given their lives in sacrifice so that we may enjoy the benefits of living in the greatest nation in the world. We thank their families and loved ones as well, for we understand they too have paid a great price. Please join Beach Automotive Group and Beach Mazda in remembering our fallen heroes, for our words of thanks are not enough. In this time of remembrance,  we also give thanks for you. We value your patronage and appreciate your confidence in us. Counting you among our customers is something for which we are especially grateful. On the wings of our freedom, remembering those men and women who sacrificed for our peaceful nights! Happy Memorial Day. Sincerely, The Management and Staff of Beach Mazda and Beach Automotive Group
