Mazda3 Maintenance Schedule

These maintenance schedules differ based on the model and whether you set the “Oil Change” maintenance monitor to “Flexible” or “Fixed”. All that this setting changes is the frequency at which you should check certain elements.

    • Every Three Years: inspect the drive belts
    • Every Four Years: inspect the hoses and tubes for emission and exhaust system and heat shields
    • On a “Flexible” oil change monitor setting: replace oil when the wrench indicator is ON. At this time, you should also replace the air filter and cabin air filter. Max interval is 12 months / 10,000 miles
    • On a “Fixed” oil change monitor setting: replace the oil every 6 months, replace the air filter at 30 months and the cabin air filter every two years
    • Replace engine coolant at 120,000 miles / 10 years or 60,000 miles / 4 years depending on coolant type. After the first replacement, change at 60,000 miles / 5 years and 60,000 miles / 4 years, respectively.
    • Replace spark plugs at 75,000 miles and rotate tires at 5,000 miles

More About Mazda Lights

There are also going to be some lights that are less dire than others. Other lights, whether Mazda5 dashboard warning lights or Mazda3 dashboard lights, are going to be more concerning and require a bit more assistance. For instance:

  • The seat belt unbuckled light can be turned off by simply buckling that seatbelt.
  • The low fuel level light means you need to get to a gas station.
  • The “check engine” light probably means you need to stop at a service center as soon as possible.
  • You can also see some lights are color-coded, like the cruise control and coolant temp lights, and the different colors have different meanings for different situations.

When you look at the guide above, you can see the Mazda3 dashboard lights meaning, which lights will need extra assistance, and which lights are a quick fix so you will know exactly what to do when one of those lights come on. The above guide will help you understand each light a little better in the event one of the lights comes on while you are driving. There will be more detailed information about your Mazda warning lights in your vehicle owner’s manual.
