Have you heard? Mazda Motor Corporation just introduced SKYACTIV™-VEHICLE DYNAMICS. It’s a series of new-generation vehicle motion control technologies.

The first technology in the series will be G-Vectoring Control. It will be introduced across Mazda’s entire model range. The first vehicle to feature it will be the Mazda Alexa. The Axela is known as Mazda3 here in the United States. The updated Mazda Axela is already on sale in Japan. The first North American application will come later this year in the 2017 Mazda6. All of us here at Beach Mazda can’t wait for its arrival!
As part of the SKYACTIV™ Technology suite, SKYACTIV™-VEHICLE DYNAMICS will supply integrated control of the engine, transmission, chassis and body to enhance the car’s Jinba Ittai feel. This is Mazda’s term for the sense of connection between car and driver. This is a feature that distinguishes Mazda vehicles. It sets them apart from the competition.
G-Vectoring Control (GVC) is a product of Mazda’s human-centered development philosophy. It’s implementing the novel idea of using the engine to enhance chassis performance. Mazda has designed the world’s first control system to vary engine torque in response to steering inputs. In turn, this provides integrated control of lateral and longitudinal acceleration forces. It also optimizes the vertical load on each wheel. This makes for smooth and efficient vehicle motion. This is fancy talk for making the internal components of a vehicle work together to produce a car that drivers will LOVE!
GVC will be of benefit to drivers of all skill levels. It will also be useful in a wide range of situations. It is a highly versatile system adaptable to vehicles of any class and drive type. The only requirements are a SKYACTIV™ engine. It allows precise control over torque output. Also required will be a SKYACTIV™ chassis. This enables superior dynamic performance. Looks like Mazda is creating the ultimate driving experience!
