IIHS Top Safety Pick+ for the 2017 Mazda CX-5

Last month, Mazda announced the 2017 Mazda CX-9 earned the highest rating from the IIHS and was named a Top Safety Pick+. Well, this month, we get to tell you the 2017 Mazda CX-5 compact crossover SUV has also been named as a Top Safety Pick+. This is this Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s highest rating!

This honor now means that each of Mazda’s 2017 models have earned the rating of “Top Safety Pick+” when the vehicles are equipped with the options front crash-prevention and specific headlights. Mazda is the only automaker that is able to claim this credit. How awesome is that?

You know what else? The Mazda CX-5 has been named as a Top Safety Pick every year since it was first introduced in 2012. According to the IIHS, the standard Smart City Brake Support and the highly effective standard LED headlights were key elements to earning the highest scores.
