2016 Mazda CX-9 Wins at Texas Truck Rodeo

The 2016 Mazda CX-9 wins!

Mazda recently announced some pretty awesome news about the 2016 Mazda CX-9!

Back in October, the Mazda CX-9 competed in the annual Texas Truck Rodeo. The Texas Truck Rodeo is a yearly event put on by the Texas Auto Writers Association. Over 70 automotive journalists from across the country met at the Longhorn River Ranch in Dripping Springs, Texas. It was a two day event. Over 70 vehicles competed for the top honors. The judges were so impressed with the CX-9, they honored it with the top prize in the full-size CUV segment. We think that’s some really great news!

“Mazda’s all-new CX-9 earned class-leading marks from our judges particularly in exterior styling, premium interior finishes, the performance of the new SKYACTIV™-G 2.5T powertrain and overall personal appeal in the highly competitive full-size CUV category,”

He continued by saying “Mazda’s CX-9 is a combination of sleek style with exciting, driver rewarding dynamics and family efficiency which makes for an award winning package, one that carried the CX-9 to be our runner-up for the overall CUV of Texas award.”

Ten Years

It’s been ten years since the Mazda CX-9 was introduced. In that time, it has transformed the full-size crossover utility vehicle segment.
