Mazda North American Operations revealed recently that the 100th Anniversary Special Edition Mazda MX-5 Miata will be presented in restricted amounts for the U.S. later this year. The iconic two-seater is an emblem of energetic, top-down driving on electrifying open highways, making it the ideal automobile to pay tribute to the brand’s 100-year achievement.

100 Years 1920 – 2020

The 100th Anniversary Special Edition MX-5 Miata is accessible in either the RF (retractable fastback) or special red soft top. It will be presented in Snowflake White Pearl Mica premium outer paint and highlighted by red styling elements all over. The front fender has an understated “100 Years 1920 – 2020” insignia while the wheel center caps include the 100th Anniversary Special Logo in red and black. The red leather seats and red carpet add a degree of elegance while offering a thumbs up to the two-tone R360 Coupe, Mazda’s first passenger car. The headrests are adorned with the 100th Anniversary Special Logo, while the red floor mats share the same emblem as the front fender. To bring the package together, the key fob is imprinted with the 100th Anniversary Special Logo and offered in a special edition box.

Built Upon the MX-5 Grand Touring

This celebratory Miata is constructed upon the 2020 MX-5 Grand Touring. It is outfitted with a four-cylinder Skyactiv-G 2.0 engine accomplished of supplying up to 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque and can be combined with a Skyactiv-MT six-speed manual transmission or a rapid-shifting Skyactiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Manual transmission editions will consist of a limited-slip differential, Bilstein® dampers, front shock tower brace, sport-tuned suspension and, for the RF, a black roof. Additional useful features consist of Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, heated leather seats, Bose® audio system that incorporates driver and passenger headrest speakers, automatic temperature control and 17-inch dark silver aluminum alloy wheels.

100th Anniversary Special Edition

In supplement to this exceptional vehicle, the Mazda Collection is presenting 100th Anniversary Special Edition items to convey the years of gratitude and to celebrate the brand’s centennial. The new items consist of a cast metal key-chain medallion, made in Japan ceramic mugs featuring either the Cosmo Sport or RX-Vision, and model cars in 1/43 scale that highlight heritage and concept Mazda automobiles. Offered in early July, is the “Mazda One Hundred” coffee table book, with a curated collection of pictures that pay tribute to the past, present and the future of Mazda. The book is a visual voyage through Mazda’s beginnings, its enthusiasm for motorsport, its award-winning design language and innovative cars – all the time highlighting the manufacturer’s contender spirit, and dedication to the joy of driving.
