If you have not already heard, Mazda recently published the news of adjustments to its management team.  We now know that Jeffrey Guyton is the new President and CEO of Mazda North American Operations. This will be official as of next week, on June 24th, 2021.

Obligations

This selection comprises supervision of Mazda North American Operations based in Irvine, Calif.; Mazda Canada Inc., centered in Toronto; Mazda Colombia, established in Bogota; and Mazda Motors de Mexico, in Mexico City. Furthermore, Guyton’s obligations involve vehicle manufacture in Salamanca, Mexico and Huntsville, Alabama, where Mazda will produce an all-new CUV created solely for the North American marketplace.

Guyton’s forerunner in this position is Masahiro Moro, who will take on the freshly formed global status of Chief Communications Officer at Mazda’s center of operations in Hiroshima, Japan. In this position, Moro will supervise public relations, investor relationships, corporate social accountability, human resources, government matters and other administrative tasks.

“Mazda continues to invest in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Colombia markets with dedicated regional products and powertrains, an enhanced dealer experience, and new manufacturing facilities,” Moro said. “Jeff has successfully led Mazda’s business growth in the US throughout the pandemic, making him a natural choice to strengthen our business across the Americas. In this expanded role, he’ll enhance collaboration across all four regions and continue to grow our brand value as a premium automaker.”

History

Since joining the US squad as President of Mazda North American Operations in 2019, Guyton has directed the organization to year-over-year sales development in 2020, purpose-led Covid response plans, the introduction of Mazda Financial Services, and the development of the effective Retail Evolution dealer program. Preceding joining Mazda North American Operations, Guyton worked as President and CEO of Mazda Motor Europe.
