2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata Packs More Punch

Everyone knows that the Mazda MX-5 Miata has never been about its power. Rather, it is a car with the purpose of helping drivers fall in love with driving. However, what’s under the hood is equally important. This is shown by the many updates for the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata.

Vehicle engineers at Mazda have enhanced the 2019 MX-5 Miata’s SKYACTIV™-G 2.0L engine with the aim of improved performance, response,m feel and efficiency. The net results are 181 horsepower @ 7,000rpm. This is an amazing 17% improvement. It also offers 151 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000rpm.

More Performance

Mazda engineers were able to build more performance in a number of ways, such as:

• Reducing the internal mass and friction
• Reducing exhaust loss
• Improved combustion
• Dual-mass flywheel
• New exhaust system
• New final drive ratio

As a result of these many changes, the 2019 MX-5 Miata is faster and has better response. You may also think it is more engaging to drive! Other improvements, not under the hood, are:

• Smart City Brake Support
• Other i-ACTIVSENSE safety technologies found throughout various trim levels.
