2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata

The 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata is on it’s way to United States!

Best Thrills-Per-Dollar

After the success of the 2016 model, and after winning World Car of of the Year and World Car Design of the Year Award, the MX-5 Miata still provides the best thrills-per-dollar ratio of any car out there today. For 2017, the only packaging changes include adding Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear-cross Traffic Alert as standard equipment for MX-5 Miata Club models. These features used to be exclusive to the Grand Touring model.

2017 Mazda MX-5 MiataTrim Levels

There are three time levels: Sport, Grand Touring and Club. Rather than a “good-better-best” strategy, Mazda has developed three distinct “flavors” of MX-5 Miata to cater to different customers. The fourth generation MX-5 Miata returns for its second model year weighing about 150lbs less than its predecessor. Mazda achieved this feat through their greater use of ultra-high-tensile steel as well as aluminum construction.A testament to Mazda’s “Gram Strategy” and the innovation of SKYACTIV™ Technology, it is approximately 25-percent more efficient than its predecessor in EPA testing. Yet, it’s also quicker and more refined with technologies customers expect in today’s cars.

SKYACTIV™-G

All North American 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata models come equipped with a quick-revving, 2.0-liter SKYACTIV™-G engine that produces 155 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. It sends power to the rear wheels via a standard six-speed SKYACTIV™-MT six-speed manual—currently accounting for 60 percent of MX-5 sales—or an available six-speed automatic that comes standard with paddle shifters. The approximately 2,300-lbs. roadster embodies Mazda’s “Jinba Ittai” philosophy—translated as horse and rider as one. And, it sets the pace for all of Mazda’s current- and next-generation cars and crossovers. For 2017, it is joined by the MX-5 RF—retractable fastback—which went on sale in November. It imbues MX-5 with coupe-like style and sophistication. Want to take a test drive? Give Beach Mazda a call today. We’ll show you how to get behind the wheel and get one for yourself!

Check Out the 1st Ever Electrified MX-30!

Mazda North American Operations recently announced the launch of the all-new Mazda MX-30, the brand’s inaugural battery-electric automobile, to the US marketplace starting in fall 2021 with dealerships in California. This fashionable automobile will celebrate the first phase in Mazda’s multi-solution electrification plan. The MX-30 is a refreshing inclusion to Mazda’s vehicle roster. It offers the identical signature driving dynamics and meticulous design anticipated from Mazda, but via a new electric powertrain. more Fast Changing Demands “Mazda is preparing for the fast-changing US market demands by taking a multi-solution approach to electrification,” Jeff Guyton, President of Mazda North American Operations, said. “The battery-powered MX-30 will begin the introduction of additional electrified models, including a series plug-in hybrid with a rotary generator for MX-30, a plug-in hybrid for our new large platform, and a traditional hybrid for our new American-made crossover. While these powertrains will be optimized for their platforms, Mazda fans can expect great driving dynamics and beautiful design across all models.” “The rotary generator will mark the return of our unique rotary powertrain,” Guyton said. “This technology is being engineered for nearly silent operation and will replenish the battery rather than drive the wheels. This new powertrain in conjunction with improvements to the Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture help the electric crossover deliver fantastic driving dynamics. The front-wheel drive electric motor will produce an output of 107 kW (144 horsepower) and a maximum torque of 271 Nm (200 lb-ft), providing a soft and connected feeling that helps improve support for the driver. Charging Options MX-30 owners will have various alternatives to stay charged, whether at home or wandering around town via entry to public Level 2 and DC fast charging solutions. The 35.5 kWh battery can be charged to 80% within roughly 36 minutes using DC fast charging2. MNAO will team up with ChargePoint to offer charging solutions for MX-30 owners in the US.
